“This is your birthday song, it isn’t very long.”
All I want for my birthday this year is a book, and it’s a book that’s not on the bookstore shelves yet, and it also just so happens that the only person who can give this book to me, is me… because the book I want, is the novel I’ve been working on for years now. And by working on, I mean writing, editing, thinking everything I just wrote sucks, starting over, writing, editing, and well… you get the idea. This hasn’t been the most effective novel writing strategy ever implemented, however it has gotten me pretty far. That being said, I still have a lot of work to do, and I want to take on this dream of mine in a much bigger way, so this is what I’m going to do about it.
Just Read the Pain Away
On January 31, 2014, I am going to perform a live reading of my novel, The Boy Behind the Curtain, from beginning to end, regardless of the state the story happens to be in at that time. Attendance will be limited, and seats will distributed on a first request basis. Feel free to message me on FB, text me (if you have my number), or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, to request your seat.
I will give information concerning the specific time and place to the people who express interest, but be warned, the reading may take a few hours, and may even have an intermission for lunch or dinner.
It scares the shit out of me to post this, and know that I’ll be accountable to having something worth reading in two months time, however I’m also excited to know that this will light a serious fire under my ass, and make a young boy’s birthday wish come true.
Love you all, and Happy Birthday to me.
P.S. If you’re not in Colorado, Skype or Google Hangout may be possible if you’re really interested. Just shoot me a message and we’ll figure it out.
